Durr Holdings have put together a formidable team to provide
South Africa with a unique home emergencies and maintenance product, Durr Home
Assist. Role players in this first
loyalty product in the South African property market are International SOS, who
provide assistance services, Medway for administrative services and SA
Underwriters.
Durr Home Assist, which is available to anyone, is provided
free of charge for the first year to Durr home buyers. Thereafter the annual fee is R385.
The cover includes
The benefits are guaranteed service, peace of mind, all
labour and parts are included, there is a reasonable excess and the service is
available 24 hours a day seven days a week.
Items covered are electrical, plumbing, appliances and
motors of gates, pools, jacuzzis and garage doors.
According to Hankie Heyns, chairman of Durr Holdings, there
are no forms to complete when a claim occurs.
He added, “Only a telephone call is required to activate the
repair process. Our team of specialist
service providers will take over and solve the problem immediately. No assessors are required, so the procedure
is quick and painless.
“Durr Holdings is able to offer this service at such a low
annual fee due to the large international risk pool involved.
“International SOS,
the largest assist company in the world, enable us to provide this world class
service throughout South Africa and we intend moving further into Africa as
soon as possible.
“Durr Holdings are proud to introduce this service, which
would appear to be a world first, to South Africa.

“To date, no one has
addressed home cover warranties for home purchasers, let alone anyone in the
country who has a home to insure.”
While there is an excess of R250 payable per individual
claim, four electrical or four plumbing faults will be repaired for one excess
amount.
The limit per claim is R2 000 but there is no limit to the
annual number of claims made.
